  • Do I need to change the configuration of my applications when using Proxifier?
No, Proxifier works transparently for applications.
However, if you were using proxies before you started to use Proxifier, you should disable any built-in proxy settings. Your applications should then be configured to connect “directly” to the Internet (rather than through proxies).
  • How does Proxifier license work?
When you buy Proxifier with a onetime payment, you get a perpetual license and free minor version updates (e.g., 3.00 -> 3.99).
One license allows one running instance of Proxifier at a time, so you can even move the license between computers.
Windows and Mac versions require different licenses.
Please see Proxifier EULA for the other details.
  • What are the limitations of the trial version?
The trial version does not have any limitations, but it stops working after 31 days from the first start. On start, the trial version displays the information window.
  • Can Proxifier run in background as Windows Service?
Yes, it is possible. Please see the documentation topic for more information.
  • What is the difference between Standard and Portable editions for Windows?
The main difference is that Proxifier Portable Edition does not require installation and admin rights, but it has some limitations.
    Please see the detailed comparison.

Adobe Acrobat and Reader can regularly check for important updates and install them for you. These updates can include important security fixes and product enhancements.

Adobe Acrobat Reader is set up for automatic updates by default. It does not provide any UI option in the preferences to control this setting.

Click Check for Updates on the Help menu. This will check for available updates, and download the latest software update on your computer. On some versions, this option may also be named Install Updates. Make sure your PC is up to date before updating Outlook 2010. If your Windows system is not up to date, you'll be taken to the Microsoft website. We would like to show you a description here but the site won’t allow us.

IT Administrators can control the update settings using the Adobe Customization Wizard or the Windows Registry.

Updates are delivered using the following two options:

  • Install updates automatically (recommended): Acrobat Reader and Acrobat regularly check for important updates, downloads them, and installs them automatically. When finished, you are alerted using a small message in the system tray that your software has been updated. This method is recommended since it does not require end-user intervention. It is the best way to keep Acrobat Reader and Acrobat up-to-date and more secure.
  • Manually check for and install updates: Acrobat Reader and Acrobat don't check for updates. Instead, the user selects Check for Updates. This option is the least secure and only recommended in organizations that use other methods of deploying updates to their systems.
